Spring is officially here! At least, that's what I say when the first trilliums start to bloom.

The trillium kurabayashi was given to me by a friend, and it's by far my favorite. The camera simply does not do justice to the flame-red color of it.

T. rivale is tiny but packs a huge amount of character into such a small plant.

T. cuneatum has wonderfully mottled leaves.

COOL!! I guess I need to put on my old shoes and go check out the ravine. I planted a couple of these last year that I picked up at the garden club sale. I hope they came back!

Ohhhh, my heart aches for these beautiful little Spring beauties here!

I had never noticed this type of trillium here in my area until about 10 years ago when I came across some in a very shaded woods. I looked 'em up and found out they are called "Toad Trilliums". Beautiful foliage!.....p
