Droopy Alliums

Post by Sue_Bee »

I have several alliums in my garden that just seem to fizzle. The foliage starts out looking good but then about half way up the leaf they just flop over. Last year I had the same issue with the flower stalks flopping over before the ever bloomed. On close inspection the leaf looks "thin" or semitranlucaent where the weak spot is but I'm not sure if that is because of the damage or if it is the source.

Anyone know what might cause this? Is it a soil problem or a pest?

I personally think its cold damage. Won't bother the plant next yr., unless it gets hit again.
