Pink Kaffir Lilly

Post by Herb »

It may be late November, but this Pink Kaffir Lily is still blooming.

Along with White Japanese Anemones, this is one of my favorite late perennials.

There's also a white Kaffir Lily that (I think) suits Japanese style gardens - and it's still blooming now too.

Mind you, we are on the west coast - in Victoria British Columbia, where it's MUCH milder than anywhere east of the Rocky Mountains) unless you count Florida and such.

Mine are still in bloom too, just about.

A few years ago I saved the seeds and when they flowered I had two colours, I preferred the pal pink ones to the red ones.

Wheasie -- No, it's not a Clivia. It's Schizostylis . With a name like that I'm surprised it isn't called Split Mind Plant.

I took the picture in November, but even though it's now late February, some of ours are still flowering, but the flowers are now rather small.
