Texas Star Hibiscus

Post by Gruntfuttock »

Last year I was sent some hibiscus Texas Star seeds by a friend in America.

I grew two in pots in the greenhouse and one in the garden. One of those I kept in the greenhouse over winter produced its first flower when I was away on holiday, the second came out today, but a combination of the thunder storm and associated rain last night and the wind today has made it a bit skanky looking, but I don't care, I have at last seen a flower and it's grrrrrreeeeaaaaaatttt!

You will love these!! We have planes that circle over the house when they spot these. Yes, my neighbors turn me in for this stuff. I have the white ones this year, keeping my toes crossed that they will bloom.

One has to watch out for those green or black helicopters with those cords that drop the DEA agents!! We had one fly over two days ago and they weren't shooting the birds eye view shots. Honestly I thought I was going to get another visitor??
