Hey Ed, what's that second one? I have a "weed" that looks like that which I keep pulling out. Perhaps I should leave it??

My surprise lilies (magic lilies) are blooming too. Hey Lucy, you always worry about your surpise lilies . . . are they up??

Hi Jane
I only know it as Cup Plant,
google search gave me this info
Cup Plant
Silphium perfoliatum
Aster family (Asteraceae)
http://www.illinoiswildflowers.info/pra ... plantx.htm

I pull out all strays that creep to the forefront of the flower bed, the plant gets about 8/9 feet high
It does spread a little, but it has been easy for me to keep in check, can't have an invasive 9 footer running wild

Very pretty Ed!

I saw someone's surprise lilies blooming a few days ago. I have to remember to go out and look for mine tomorrow.

In general I hate Surprise Lilies...But they way you have them mixed in your bed looks pretty Herb!

Everybody around here puts them in the dang front of the bed or all by themsevles...it just looks bad!!
