So, with global warming you can grow these outside? They're beautiful.

Again, I would love to grow some of the things you do outdoors, John :)

Amaryllis is hardy to zone 8 where John is, and this has been an especially mild winter for most of us.

Unfortunately, I have misled you. This was actually grown inside, but taken outside and put on the deck rail :oops: :oops: so I coulld make a better photo.

Beautiful amaryllis. Did anyone know they last longer if picked when just opening and put in a vase? I have several growing in my greenhouse so picked one, tipped it upside down, filled the stalk with water and placed it in a vase. Lasted a whole week on my kitchen table. Since then, I pick one bloom off each plant to enjoy in the house. growlove
