Companion plant?????

(Sorry, I couldn't help myself)

But seriously, I can't help you. I find some years are worse than others for mushrooms popping up in various places. This year there were a few in the middle of the lawn. I'm not sure what can be done.

They're interesting and harmless. I just step on them to squish them.

I have the same problem Nathalie, not only in my mulched areas but in the grass and around/on tree stumps. I find it's worse when it's been really wet out. I pull them out as close to the ground as possible to try and get the roots out. I then throw them in a yard waste bag to avoid the spores spreading and creating more of them.
