Hi, George,
I haven't been here, but I've been nearby! See the Woody Plants section - all about the sudden death of our Tanyosho Pine and our Forestry Department's diagnosis of what did it in.
It's been replaced by a Jundai-Sugi Japanese Cedar.... -

I'm here. I never post but I so much enjoy looking at your beautiful and unique gardens in this corner of the forum.
Oh, and I bought a Jap Maple two weeks ago for my new shady garden area! That's Japanese Gardening, right? It's Emperor One. Hopefully it will do well under a high thin canopy of wild cherry, with a little bit of late morning sun. And come to think of it, I put some new bamboo, Fargesia Rufa, in the sunniest part of my shady bed. I split a 3 gal pot, each half is in differing amounts of dappled and indirect sun.
At this rate, I'm going to have to consider calling my new shady bed my "Japanese Shady Bed"!!
Get busy and show us pictures of what you've been doing in your gardens all summer. I love looking at the pictures, but don't have the patience or talent to do it myself.

Hi, George
I check in here periodically, don't post much as I don't have a Japanese style garden. I just love looking at all of yours.
Mike, sorry to hear about your garden. I hope all is not lost, and you can find a way to bring it back.
Sam...just keep on trying. It took me a while to find my way around the new forum, but I'm getting the hang of it now.

Hello George
We're still here - just been too busy with work and other things that get in the way!
We are off to Tatton Park this Wednesday to enjoy an RHS lecture in the Japanese Garden with master gardener Sam Youd who will demonstrate pruning. As you will probably already know, the tea garden at Tatton is generally regarded as one of the best in Europe. We will post a full report on the visit when we get the time.
Denise and Vic.

I changed the "view new posts" page so that hopefully it is easier to read and see which forums those new topics are posted in.
The other option is to click on the individual forum to see what is new and/or unread. In the new forums unread topics always remain marked as unread, even after you leave, but they can be turned off by clicking the "mark topics read" link at the top of the forum.
But I hope the search page change helped
Chris
