Thank you everyone it is quite new, since we finish it in February and the garden will gain a lot with the passing years. It is a pleasure to find a forum with an especifique topic for Japanese Gardens! I'll be sharing with you photos and also my blog ... The thing is that the blog is in Spanish so you might not understand a lot of it . The other thing I will share my doubts and achievements is with my Niwakis, since I have 3 pines (sylvestris) and 3 acer palmatum to work on;) I' ll share the fotos on another post...

reduced or eliminated cones and lower needles out, and some of the branches have tutors to lower then more horizontal/down. Still haven't cut some of the braches that are opposite or useless because i`m suppose to wait winter - ell me if that is correct for pines, please




this one is with cones reduced or eliminated


the last one is to be a Monka buri over the garden gate:

almost all cones and lower needles out - can't reach the upper branches but i'm not worried since the top will be cut down in the future...


All I know about Niwakis is from books since I've never even had a Bonsai to previous learn some of the techniques... thats why all your help is important for me!

Do you know the latin name for the grass by the water feature ?

Your pine is planted in February and you want to cut the top and some branches. The reason winther is said to be the wood/ tree</scrub cutting time is.. it was the time of year people had the time to do it. It is not the best time. Best time is when the tree is awake, soaking up plenthy of water and... can heal itself quickly, witch is not possible in winther.

Al in all I would cut it in the early spring.

Hello again! It has been some time since I first posted here... Hope I am still wanted
Since the first time I posted my garden has grown and a lot more photos have been taken, so that will be the thing to do, post some photos and let you know how it is right now I have added a new part after the wooden gate with a Suikinkutsu (water harp) and Nobedan that I designed and placed it myself... I am very proud of it and I would really appreciate if you give me your feedback. The design is still not finished on that area... have a few alternative drawings, perhaps you can help me to make a choice or change it to a different new one...
