OC has a cousin who has Iris blooming

Post by oldcoot »

OC's Jack Perry from Taylor's SC has some of the Iris Rhizomes OC sent him last fall up and blooming. He is a
member here but OC can not get him to post. SO, when he sent me some pictures over the last few days, I saved them for you. They were originally OC's mothers, many of them from her mother. When OC's mother away, his son and daughter in law helped OC dig them all up and bring them back to Rock Hill, divide them, and give most of them to the grand childrem. OC also has been sending his cousins some rhizomes from the divisions he has made. He has also sent several people on this forum some in the last few years and if they are blooming, lease post this old Coot named John some pictures. Having his Iris blooming in the yard, and not being out there and seeing them up close is driving him nuts. Maybe next year....................

OC doesn't know the names of these because he didn't buy them.

Thanks cousin Jack

OOOOO, very pretty! Someone I know is supposed to give me some this year when they divide theirs. I sure hope they're as pretty as those!

Beautiful!! The third one - the red bitone - is Indian Chief (Ayres, 1929). The second one, the purple, may be Lent. A Williamson, but not positive.

OC's OWN Iris

Post by oldcoot »

What a wonderful day this has been, With OC and his PT going out on the back deck and onto the sidewalk a little later and OC took the first pictures ,since last summer. OC hasn't lost all his touch, but is sure rusty. Since he was in a wheel chair, using the tripod was an exercise in futility. So he braced his elbows on the arms of the wheelchair, and did the best he could. These were his results

These were all made with his Cannon XT and his kit lens......

OC, doesn't look like you've lost your touch even though you say you're a bit rusty. You did a beautiful job of capturing the beauty of those iris. Great Job!!

Beautiful OC!! The clump of purple and yellow iris is darling!

I'm sure getting back out in the garden and taking pictures is the best kind of medicine for you!!
