Garlic

Post by YellowRose »

Hi guys. Haven't been around HG in a while. Been pretty busy. Just purchase our first house.

Anyways. I am planning a veggie garden this year. Well I have some garlic that has been sitting in my kitchen window for cooking. But its growing a large stalk on it. I was wondering if I could plant this? I read that autumn is a better time to plant garlic so it can get a good root base and lie dormant for a bit, but I read that early spring is ok.

Thanks for any input :)

YR, we have the social garlic planted all over the yard due to the mole problems we had ten years ago. It is up two feet now and yesterday I started pulling some of the clumps up and just tossing it into the compost bin. So you don't have to just plant it in the garden.
