Garden Pest

Post by JaneG »

The brown blur near the center of this picture is our garden culprit, making a quick exit over the fence when she saw me coming!! She especially likes beans, I've just planted pole beans for the THIRD time!! (notice the poles in the garden with NO beans on them?!) :(

I went out with my camera because a few minutes earlier she was in the hosta garden, standing under a tree, behind a white bench, and I thought it made a pretty vignette. By the time I got out there, she had moved to the veggie garden . . . grrrr!

Sorry about the poor picture quality. When she spotted me she bolted and I just held up the camera and pushed the button, no time time to focus or even look at the display, just aim and shoot! Just one shot, I got lucky to catch her mid-jump.

By the way, the neighbor whose yard she's jumping into has a 4' fence with a hot wire around his garden!

Good 'lil jumper, isn't she. And so brazen, out in the day.
So far, they haven't got wind of our garden, but it is always a risk.
Sorry you are having to deal with the persistent little buggers. They are a challenge.

I wonder if garden netting would slow her down any?
Before criticizing someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them you will be a mile away and have their shoes!
