Good Morning from Gizmo!

Post by doublemom2 »

This is how Gizmo said good morning to me a few days ago, popped his head out from under his rock hide and asked me where his breakfast was LOL!

He's really starting to show his personality (yes, reptiles DO have personalities!) He doesn't like to be held, but will let us pet him in his enclosure and hand feed him. He loves to sit and listen if we talk to him, and he likes to stare down the cats when they're in his room also.

So... Good morning to everyone from Gizmo the Uro :)

Andi! I don't know how you do it! Although he's cute, I'm just not a lizard keeper! :D

BTW....say hi to Gizmo from me....this is as close as I'll get to him. Thank heavens!

I'd like to give him a kiss on his cute, cold, reptilian lips. Pucker up, Gizmo!

I really like that Gizmo critter. :D I think he is cool. If I still had kids at home, I think I would get one. Thanks for sharing him with us.... Have you reconsidered getting him a girlfriend?

Nope, no girlfriend :( I've learned that in the wild they're solitary and only get together to do the "lizard dance" in the spring, then go their separate ways again. Putting two in the same enclosure is risky because they can either get along great or fight to death, and I'm not willing to take that chance.

I'm really hoping that my daughter will get tired of her small bedroom getting so hot from his heat lights and she'll want to move Gizmo out of her room to downstairs where we can all see more of him. Some day... Since she paid for him, for now he's in her room :)

Gizmo looks cute, but no reptiles in my house, with or without feathers

In the last year you have gone for one spoiled cat to 3 cats, unknown if newest are spoiled, and one reptile. And your DH thought a dog was too much trouble?

LOL! You forgot to add in the aquarium frog and the two hamsters :) Really, I never thought I'd like reptiles but Gizmo is definitely changing my mind. Even my DH who HATES reptiles (especially snakes) can be caught hand-feeding Gizmo a flower or sitting in there talking to him.

Oh, yeah, the boy cats are also super-spoiled of course! We're in the process of building them an outdoor enclosure so they can go outside but still be contained, complete with ramps, platforms and shelves, a climbing log for Monkey, and a hammock. Spoiled? Nah....

I think he is pretty
My neice has been wanting one of those. But she already has a bearded dragon, trantula and a snake LOL.

Got a new background for Gizmo's cage the other day, because the parchment paper we were using to block the sides and back was kinda boring. What do you think?

Note Monkey on the far left "babysitting" LOL!
