I think he is kinda cute, but then I have a snake for a pet, so what do I know?
Do you have to knit him a sweater for winter? Does he have any fuzz on his body at all?
Good luck with him. He will certainly be a conversation piece.

Re: Meet Wilbur!
He has like a light case of peach fuzz on him. Not very much tho. He sleeps in a house in his cage with lots of stuff in it to keep him warm. As chilly as it has been out his little body stay really warm....like a hot water bottle....Not sure how but he does. Thanks Annie! Hard to get a picture of an active critter! Abby doesn't mind about people syaing he's homely. She loves him. That's all that matters she says.....LOL!

Re: Meet Wilbur!
Wanna borrow my cat for a few days?!
Now that is one seriously ugly creature. God has a sense of humor for sure . . . or perhaps it's some sort of genetically engineered thing???
Your daughter must be a very special girl! She loves all the creatures!

To each his/her own... and that's coming from someone who has three lizards and thinks they're cute as pie, though most people wouldn't have one in their house LOL! After having long-haired hamsters also, Wilbur looks like he's cold brrrrr!!! So glad he's friendly and that your daughter likes him, rats are incredibly good pets from what I've heard.

Re: Meet Wilbur!
Well Wilbur is still doing great but we thought he needed a friend so we got a Dumbo rat...My daughter named him Roo. Wilbur loves him and they keep each other warm so now Wilbur has a furry friend to keep him warm!
