Gus ....A Year Later

Well, not quite but almost! It was rough for the first couple of months. I really liked him but I was still grieving for Buddy. And we did have a few accidents like on my new mattress that did not set well. I was about ready to return him to the shelter at one point. But he would look at me with those puppy eyes and I just couldn't do it. He seemed to really appreciate his new home and he loved his new mommy & daddy with all his heart.

Needless, to say he won me over completely and now he is always right behind me where ever I go! He just over flows with love and happiness and gives us smiles and laughs everyday! This dog has a sense of humor!

I have never really felt like any of my pets were like children....until now. Gus is very much our little boy!

He looks like a real character, and I'm not at all surprised he won your heart! My little dog has pushed the limits at times,
but I'm so glad that I stuck it out with him, too. It's two years this month since he came to live with us, and I can't imagine
how I'd have gotten through the last two years without the silly little dog.
Love the picture of him peeking through the fence.

I would have missed out on so much if I hadn't given him a chance. His biggest problem was over coming the confusion of our 2 story house. He clearly didn't know how to navigate and go back downstairs to go out. Such a simple thing that was easily corrected and he is good as gold now...

except for tearing up his toys!
