Early last year, I said to myself, you'll become 40 this year, so it's now or never. Done with the excuses (too much work...) and time to step up.
I started swimming early last year and biking somewhere in july, adjusting my schedule to do at least 4-5 hours of sport every single week. On top of that, I started eating regular quantities.
A bit more than a year later, I've lost 73 pounds, that's almost one third of my weight last year
I wearing 3-4 sizes smaller clothes these days (tired a Medium sized shirt today that was way too large for me)
I'm quite sure it's the sporting bit that cuts the cake : not only are you burning calories, but you can't eat during sporting.
I also notice that fat food does not attract me anymore , certainly not after sporting.
This saturday, I will participate in a 3 miles sea swimming contest in France... two years ago I had a hard time swimming 50 m at once

I agree - WOW what an accomplishment! Wish I had your conviction to get in that good of shape like you have. You must feel a lot better than you did before.
Keep up the good work, though I don't think you need any encouragement

Re: 73 down...
While the weather seemed great before the start, wind became stronger during the race, so I had to fight rather hefty waves now and then.
And those waves don't make it easy to know which way you need to swim (they block your sight )
Positive was the nice weather we had during the last two weeks making the seawater less cold.
Anyway, I finished after 1h42". I'm extremely proud of myself...
Next year ... again

IMPRESSIVE is right!! All the way around!
Way to go, sugar!
Since you are on this new health regimen, are you going to have to change your screen name to "sugar-substitute?"

Re: 73 down...
I still eat sugars (perhaps even more then before), I mainly cut the fat food. With all the training, I need them ...
