My latest quilt project

Post by fullofit »

Since I made a zoo quilt for my grandson, I used the same fabrics to make a quilt for his father. I made squares with the zebra, giraffe, snake, gorilla, peacock, and all the rest of the fabrics. This way, my grandson is certainly going to bond with his father, simply over the two quilts. It was such fun. Now I need to put on my thinking cap and come up with an idea for my other sons quilt.

What a beautiful quilt! :D
Never before have so few with so much promised to take away so much from so many and then laugh their asses off as the so many with so little vote for the so few with so much.

I envy people like you who can do that! It is a very beautiful quilt. A coworker of mines sons (twins) recently became Eagle Scouts and for their Court of Honor, she made quilts of all their old Scout T-Shirts. She had saved them for years just for that purpose. They were both just wonderful! and hers sons truly cherish them. I thought it was a wonderful way to portray important events and I suspect they will be family heirlooms for many years.

The squares didn't start out as a planned quilt. I have a book of potholders with each one a different quilt square. I liked the way they went together, and it went from there into this quilt. Most of them are hand sewn, since I did it while we were traveling on vacation-in the truck, no less! CHAR

It is great, isn't it?! Very bold color choices. I know he will love it. I have so many to finish. My five year old keeps asking me if I am almost done with his big boy quilt. I wish!

Wedding quilt for Son #2. Called English wedding ring. I used bright colors because they like them. And I was real pleased at how it came out.

This quilt is a Christmas present for son #1. It is denim and made from jeans.
I hit the goodwills, and salvation army stores for variations. It ought to hold up forever.
Heavy weight and definitely masculine.
