This is NOT a post about Gilligan's Island.
I bought a pot of European Ginger. I would have liked to buy about 10 pots of it, but my budget would not permit this. I want to know is how can I best get this one pot to spread/divide/mulitiply. Other than give it ideal conditions so that it thrives, are there other tricks to make it spread? Can I harvest seed, do cuttings, layer, or other things?
I'd never be this impatient to have more of Mary Ann, but for Ginger, I just can't wait.
? about Ginger
I haven't used any method of propagation other than dividing. They do have a flower of sorts down near the ground and I think ants pollenate the flower but I have never looked for seeds. I got a clump in a trade and immediately divided into 4 plants. Those 4 are huge after about 4 years. Need divided again.

Ginger from seed?
I found some European ginger seeds online. Does anyone have experience growing ginger from seed? Easy? Hard? Suggestions?
