Hi, I bought my first Brunnera this spring, and it faded away this summer in the heat and drought. It seems to be getting more leaves now.
What is normal for this plant?

Brunnera
It very well might in your zone. When I lived in IL, mine did in the mild winters. It wil get a fresh flush in the spring. Good drainage, but ample moisture is key. Winter protection helps.
My 4 types perform best situated in well drained soil in a partial shade location , especially when the hot summer sun is at it's peak . Mine never go dormant even during a stretch of 90+ F. periods but I make certain there is a fair amount of organic material surrounding the plants . They do look their best during the cooler moderate temp growing periods of the year .
