Great Dwarf shrub for Shade- Reeves Skimmia

Post by boops »

Just an idea for your shade gardens-my Reeves Skimmia only gets 3 feet tall gets white flowers in the Spring and little decorative red berries follow.

Very pretty shrub. Love the shiny leaves.
Thanks, I am going to look for this one.
So much shade.

Pandora, it probably won't be hardy for you. Zone 6b is a limit, unless you have it in a very protected area. And it likes sandy soil, which might be hard to find in Ohio!

Oh, Tigger, thank you very much for the warning. I do have one protected area by the house, but it certainly is not sandy.
Heavy clay, I keep amending.
Darn. Well it is a beautiful shrub for those who don't get -20F.

Happy New Year
