Seedlings from this year. One is 1 yellow bunny Ear, and the other is very wavy, got to think up a name for that one...

I've been removing the lower leaves on them, and the wavy one is sending up another eye.

Very cool!

But why are you removing the lower leaves?

Two Yellows

Post by wzbt03 »

These are the only seedlings that I can find that have yellow or somewhat yellow leaves and red petioles.
Neither is as good as yours but I like the red up into the back of the petiole on the Akane seedling.

wzbt03, I think they are lovely! Akane is a good one for getting some red in the seedlings, I don't have that one  . Way to go!

Thanks Reldon, I hope they stay that ruffled. Jeroen, I believe them to be from Liberty Bell seeds. That is really the only seed of my own that I started this season early on about late Oct. I got tons of streaks, many green with red pets, and about 6 or so yellows, some streaked, and some like these above. I just love that Liberty Bell as a pod parent! All the next sowings are of seed I won/&or purchased from others, those would be the tiny, 2 leaved ones I have posted pics of. I started my last tray of seeds this week, now I am out and will have way, way too many to care for until they go outdoors.
