Tough to do much this week

Post by HostaDesigner »

This rain is making it tough to collect pollen or hybridize of any sort this week. Just a few dry hours in the morning, that's all I ask! The good hostas that I want to use are few and far between this time of year. I can't afford to lose this many days.

Just venting... -sigh- :(

Hi,

Hopefully this week has been better than last week. Like you, I felt like 3 days of constant rain last week was really taking away from my hosta time, but this week has been nearly perfect, in my opinion. Maybe a little too cold at night, but things are moving along here again - only have a couple crosses done, though, but pods are forming on them, so I'm happy about that so far :)

Not much left to pollinate here! I'm collecting some pollen from the late bloomers here to use on the early bloomer streakers next year. This is a first for me! :D
