Guacamole Seeds

Post by steg »

Has anyone tried seeds from Guacamole?

One of mine has about 3 "huge" seed pods on it. If I can find a couple kernels in them, I was going to try. Just curious to know if anyone has experience with them.

Mine set a couple of pods last year but I believe when I opened them up there was not a true seed -just empty chaff (the black covering). I'm new to the seed thing so maybe there was still a seed in there but they were unlike any of the other seeds I planted last winter.

I'm wondering if that will be the case. When I finally do take them off and open them up I'll look/feel for a little bump at the end as the kernel. If I get enough of those I may plant to see what happens.

Hi,

Several years ago I collected tons of Guacamole seed and in each pod I found what I thought were just one or two seeds that I thought might be viable, but nothing grew. Those few seeds did have slight bumps but it definitely wasn't anything real.

I will certainly keep that in mind when I crack things open.

I have several nice seedlings from Guacamole and Fragrant Bouquet O.P. They are fragrant with light purple big flowers.
Go for it!
