Well, my name is Tom, I'm living in Belgium.

I live in the centre off a small city in a house with a very small garden (8 by 85 ft) . It was the only drawback on an otherwise gorgeous house that I really couldn't resist...

Since June, the garden has been organised, in a unconventional, modern style
Some people ask me questions about my avatar, I decided to put some pictures and some explanation here

Image

A long and small garden, So I tried to work with some small 'sitting' walls to break things open. In between the different garden 'rooms', Magnolia grandiflora 'Edith Bogue' will be creating hedges....

Image

The trees will be pruned to get four 'green walls'

Image

Well, I admit that it's a bit of a gimmick, but this water feature allows us to have a 0,5 foot deep pool, just to get the feet wet on hot summer days. The kids love it. We also use it to dine when the weather is great
The walls will be covered by Hedera within 3-4 years

Image

This is the hosta garden, just after planting the plants. Since then, everything has been growing very well given the unusal hot weather we had over here this year

The walls will be covered by Hydrangea petiolaris and Schizophragma hydrangeoides

Image

The back of the garden is an isect garden. All plants have been choosen because they attract bees or butterflies.

The walls will be covered with Parthenocissus

My hosta list is rather modest

Your garden is lovely and unique! You should post some night shots as it seems as if you've incorportated some lighting into the side of the "seats".
Re: your website... I found it somewhere else and emailed the link to a friend as the slide show is fabulous and very relaxing to watch. Thank you for sharing!

Well, just two weeks later, got the chance to add an incredible beautiful plant to my list, so I guess it's 102 now.

My absolute limit is 111 hosta, so I'll have still 9 to go :bd:
