Hello and again sorry for my bad english:
I have a wonderfull Hosta ( don´t know the name...;-( )
I noticed marks on only 2 ! leaves of the plant this year- these are the oldest leaves on the plant and i hope the marks come from cold/frost in spring...???????
Her is the plant:
see the leave in close up:
and here is the second leave from the same hosta
is this the virus ????????
thank u for help!
br
melanie
Need your help!!! Is this the Virus X ???
Sorry David..aber Ich glaube nicht...
Normally there will be a green/blue marking if t is HVX on a Gold Standard..and on more leaves
To mee it look like one of those stange markings a late frost can do ..even if the hosta is still an eye that night... but to be sure...
Can you plant it in a pot and wach it for a year or 2
We can do a test in Holland... never figuréd out how and for how much
If a test is 70€/$ 80 it for sure keep most private collectors from testing

I am not sure either. Looks strange.
We had a bad late frost this year at the end of april (-10°C at the ground) in the southern parts of germany, a time some hostas started to unfurl this year, and there are lots of strange looking plants in my nursery some showing signs like yours, some look like they spent some time in the microwave and many have this little brown dots on the outer leaves.
Have a look on this one and don't cut or dig around this plant.
