Re: Twilight with cell collapse
I don't think that is Twilight. Twilight should have a lighter edge and that looks like the edge might be half a shade darker blue. You might want to post whole plant pictures to see if you can get an accurate ID.
Sorry about the ulgy virus-y look though.

Thanks. You are so correct. My map was wrong. I just came back from getting some full plant shots and noticed the problem - the plant is Paul's Glory. I don't have Twilight in that space but my map says I do. I'm changing the subject line if I can. I'll get pictures up in a while.

Here's the plant. But I don't know the source to watch out for.

Re: It's really Paul's Glory not Twilight with cell collapse
Thanks for sharing the pictures of Paul's Glory with HVX. This cell collapsing is getting to be the common symptom on HVX infected plants. The virus needs to be infecting the plant for a while to get to this stage of cell damage.
Paul's Glory is a commonly imported Dutch hosta so will be a commonly infected plant

Re: It's really Paul's Glory not Twilight with cell collapse
It was only planted last year. Didn't show any signs of problems. I have seen "bleeding" on Gold Standard and "mottling" on Blue Cadet (really ugly). But is my first up-close look at cell collapse.
BTW, at the begining of this topic I thought this plant was Twilight and found my map to be wrong but Twilight in now coming up - really, really late.

My only infected hosta to date was Paul's Glory. I bought it from a big box store before I knew better.
