Is this a symptom of HVX?

Post by lurker »

This is Loyalist that I received from a reputable internet hosta vendor early this spring. In the past few weeks white centers have turned dark green on a few plants. Does the dark green coloring in the white are indicate HVX?

I say "no." Just some sun-scald, I imagine, but I've never seen HVX on a Loyalist to know how it shows up.

No, that wouldn't be a symptom of HVX. Loyalist is likely one that doesn't easily show symptoms, but I would figure you would see leaf collapse and distortion before any color changing.
