Chris-Is this HXV?

Post by hosta-see »

Chris,

Can you please look at these pictures and tell me if you think this is HXV in my Niagara Falls hosta?

Thanks

Chris is out to lunch but that sure is one sick puppy!

I would dig it up (even without the Agdia test), put it out in the trash in a plastic garbage bag, disinfect the digging tools and make a note not to plant a hosta in its location. For how long? Wait for the next installment of research results from Dr. Lockwood.

Yes, that really is a bad case of HVX. A lot of these infected Niagara Falls have been around for years now, and we even got hit with some several years ago :( I agree that there is no doubt about this one. Dig it, pitch it, and don't plant another hosta there.

Sorry for the bad news, but I'm sure you already suspected.

Sad :(

Please am I allowed to use your pics...
I do speak about hostas here in Denmark... with the purpose to spread the words about HVX. Your pic is very easy to understand compared to a normal Niagara Falls
Credits are giving with a name of your choise

Hi Thy,
I have no problem with you using my pics to help to educate people on HXV! I wish I could have been more informed about HVX when I first started collecting.
