LOL Victoria, but you are absolutely correct.. it is either falling needles or some other stuff from a tree or small flies having a party with tasty hostawine

In my opinion it is the result of a late frost or water on top of the tissue, while exposed to the sun. In both situations the substance of the tissue is damaged, allowing botrytis to infect the cells. No problem in my opinion. Just remove the damaged leaf and let the plant grow new ones. I had this on a few of mine last spring (maybe the year before). It's little beads of water that have gotten too cold and burnt the tissue.
