I'm hoping it's cold damage

Post by bkay2000 »

Hi,

I bought this from a local independent nursery last year. It was a large plant and looked healthy. We had a horrible hosta spring. It was warm in January, cold in February and March. The local newspaper called it whipsaw weather. This is Royal Standard. It came up in mid-February. Is it cold damage or should I test it. I have strips.

I think you're okay BK. I believe HVX is more on the vein and not on the leaf. My S&S looks a bit like that and had some bad cold damage to it. As always though, I'd just wait for Chris's opinion. Does it show on the back of the leaf?

Thanks, Owen. It tested positive. Chris told me on Gardenweb not to use my strips, but I did anyway. I was really hoping it was cold damage, as it's a large plant.

My first HVX.

Thanks again,
