Hellebores seedlings

Post by Robyn »

One of our members, Toby, from Alabama very generously sent me some seedlings 2 years ago. About 8 of them survived and 3 bloomed for the first time this spring. I am so excited because 2 are speckled and the other is very different. The first blossom that opened was very plain and the second on the same stalk seems to have two rows of petals. Would you normally see both kinds of blossoms on the same stalk (I am really not losing my mind).

Here is one of the speckled seedlings. I cut off the top of the other one. Will have to try for another picture tomorrow night. Thanks again Toby. You are the best.

I love the second one! My kind of flower with those rounded petals and the doubling. Don't you just love the first blossoming?!

Woah. :o That speckled one is nice. And a double? Huh. Perhaps I should go check the garden.
Thanks for the pictures. :D
