I finally got around to planting my whiskey barrels and the other day I noticed how the sun was shining on this particular heuchera, so I grabbed my camera. The leaves are actually a darkish purple color, but with the sun shining through they just seemed to glow a pretty color of red.
I said this just today. There's something special about September sunlight that makes plants just glow. We don't get too many of them but if you pay attention, you will see it. You got to see it today.
Thanks all. This really is a great time of year for some beautiful colors, isn't it?
And yes, LG. I did plant hostas and heucheras together and I do intend to overwinter them there. Of course I'll keep my fingers crossed until spring.
Love the light shining through the foliage. Shot some this spring with light coming through the back side of some Iris. Really neat. Thanks for posting...OC with a smile even thought it is raining again and turning COLD this week-end. FROST WARNINGS.......BUMMER. He still has Coleus in bloom.....
