Can anyone tell me something about this grass?
I thought this is what I had in my yard but this one is varigated, mine isn't.
It's a beautiful grass!
But I'm trying to figure out how big it will get. Not so much tall, but how big around?
Thanks

Give it a year or two and it will be as big around as your yard. A few more years and they'll be cursing you in China.

LOL I was afraid of that! So I'm thinking about putting it into a half whiskey barrel. MMM wonder if that would work?
Since I already got it and then did my home work on it LOL.

That would help...but it is known to jump, so be vigilant!

Don't mean to sound rather dim but how can it jump?
Thought it spread by runners.
You mean it can reseed??
If so I ain't gonna plant it anywhere!!!

Arundo donax variegata is slightly shorter and less aggressive in a cold Northern Climate ; it may not survive without mulch if temps dip below 0 F ( like they do periodically in deep SW Ontario ) . I mulch my 4 year old clump that is now approx. 3' wide and it seems to remain very controllable . I placed the standard arundo donax near a pussy willow and the competition really slows it's potentialy aggressive tendencies ; a few years ago , I lost a rather large plant when I forgot to mulch it before winter set in .
