Going, going, FINiSHED

The large Pampas Grass that Wonderwoman wanted taken away has been disappearing fast today
It was quite a few hours hard work to get to this stage, but I fear that the hardest part may be yet to come ... removing the roots
I used an electric saw to get to this stage, after first cutting away the grass with shears. I think my neighbours chain saw might help to reduce it further prior to digging it out. More news as it happens
This is the size it was before, and then after :)

Ye see folks ... ye can't argue with Wonderwoman :)
I agree it looks nice in the photographs. But it was outgrowing its space and blocking the pathway and needing a lot of work every year to keep it tidy. AND don't forget that I am getting old :) and that I feel even older today as every muscle in my body aches
Dear Wee Debs ... if you can manage to get here before 10 am I will let you loose on it

Sam, having had to dig out a few "grass clumps" myself, might I suggest TNT?! Those are the absolute WORST!

DONE IT :)
Neighbour arrived today with the chain saw
Cut it down small bit by small bit
THEN we took an axe to the root system, and dug it out small bit by small bit
It only took about an hour and five barrowloads of root
Then I replaced the soil with garden soil, leaf mould and farmyard manure
It's looking good :)

Well...I agree with the others.....at least on pics it was a beautiful clump.
But I'm glad you got it all out ,Sam, and I hope you didn't have to suffer too long with the aches and pains.
