Bamboo rescue

Post by gamekeeper »

This spring my boss told me she wanted rid of a large plant that has been here in the office for well over twenty years .I couldn't bear to throw it out as she suggested even though it had been neglected for years.I brought it home repotted it and fed it and it stayed in the yard all summer. With cold weather I moved her in side she has done fairly well except for brown/black spots that start on the tips of some leaves and work into the leave.I don't know its species except I was told it is bamboo.Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Peter

Hi Peter,

Maybe you could post a photo of the supposed bamboo? Some kinds are hardy, generally the 'running' type; others are not, usually the clumpers.

I grow about 20 kinds here in NJ, zone 6/7; some are hardy to zero degrees. Others will receive some protection in my cold porch.

Welcome to Hallson's!
