I have a Miscanthus 'Flamingo' in a large stoneware pot in a prominent spot. A couple of years ago I planted snowdrop and crocus bulbs throughout after I had cut it back for the winter. Last spring they came up long before the foliage started growing and helped bridge the gap. Once the foliage started growing it helped to hide the curing foliage. This spring the bulb clumps are much bigger and the effect is spectacular!

I've planted some of the smaller grasses in pots with some success - never tried a miscanthus - another project for empty pots!! :D
