Dogs are also a form of farming and one has all the same or similar experiences with them. After 50 years of it this time of year in the morning when I put the dogs out I think to myself how much longer can I do this?????

I did not know you were a breeder! What type of dogs? And, yes I can imagine they are a lot of work!

50 years is a long time! My sis has a Cardigan Welsh Corgi she got from someone who's been breeding them for somewhere over 40 years, and I thought that was an amazing record! DH is starting his 45th year of milking cows...and if you add in the 2 years he worked for a neighbor when he was still in high school, he's approaching your 50 year mark.
Do you have someone who looks after the dogs so you can get away for a few days now and then? Or are you like my husband, who thinks there is no one else on the face of the earth who can be trusted to take care of his animals?

Well, for one thing, Kathie, one is tied down every day because the animals have to be cared for.
