Thread Icons

Maybe I'm dumb, but since the new look arrived I don't know what the icons at the beginning of the threads mean and I've not had success looking for an explanation. Is there a key somewhere on the site?

Hi Viola Ann......you might be able to find that info in the FAQ section. The link to it is found on that same line that shows you are logged in and right next to the Members section link. Look up and to the right hand side of the page.

I did try the FAQ's but sometimes I can't read; so I'll try again.

Nope! Not there. There is a reference to thread icons which might be what they are but it doesn't explain what they mean.

Hmmmm...I know I read somewhere on here about the icons, but can't remember where. It might have been in a thread that Chris posted in and someone asked about the icons. Maybe a search will reveal something?

Hi Ann,

I did create a lot of different thread icons this time around, but haven't had a chance to assemble a key to them. But here goes:

To start out you have forum icons:

= A forum with no unread topics/all topics have been read or marked read.
= A forum that contains unread topics.

Next you have topic icons:

= A topic that is unread or has new posts that have not been read.
= A topic that has been read.
= A topic that is unread or has new posts that have not been read, PLUS the little dot means you have previously posted to the topic.
= A topic that has been read PLUS the little dot means you have previously posted to this topic.
= A topic that has not been read or has new posts, PLUS the star means it is a popular topic with at least 25 replies.
= A topic that has been read, plus it is a hot/popular topic.
= A topic that has not been read or has new posts, PLUS it is a hot topic, PLUS you have previously posted to this topic.
= A topic that has been read PLUS it is a hot topic PLUS you have previously posted to this topic.

There are other icons too, like announcements, stickies, polls, locked topics/forums, etc. I think you will get the drift of those
