Say Hello to more of Kellie's Hellebores!
Say Hello to more of Kellie's Hellebores!
I came home early from work today (sick--bleh ), and it was so odd to come home during daylight that of course, I had to go out in the garden. Here are today's pics of the Hellebores that I'm babysitting for Kellie!

Lovely, too bad I do not have space for the white and the black one
Or do I ... just need to check... are they going to be same size as the pink ones ???

What a great deal all around! They look happy there Doris. But won't they miss you later?
Hi KellieD. Looks like you made good choices! I have a few species plants I ordered from Heronswood years ago but no hybridus. I can't wait to visit. Is hellebore days the best time or is it too crowded? I will plan to maybe go there and to visit Northwest Garden Nursery (that's the O'byrnes, right?) next year. How do you work there if you're in Oregon? Isn't it near Puget sound?

The Hellebore Open is when the new crop is first available for sale. If you want the cream of the crop, go to the Hellebore Open. Since not all of them are blooming in time for it, there are still plenty of hellebores available afterwards.
I bunked with the O'Byrnes when they were speakers at this years Hellebore Open. Neat people!
I worked for Heronswood up until last July when we moved here, but I still docent at the Opens, and they still consider me part of the family.
(Don't tell Doris, but I really don't know just how many of mine she has. I think she could make some "disappear" without me knowing it. Shhhhh.....)

Thanks KellieD. Do they need any temporary cheap laborers for hand pollinating next year?
Thelma has good taste and what a great home she has! I lived with a cat in college that looks like Thelma. His name was Gabro and had white feet. And funny thing is he also had a hellebore (at least there was one growing outside the house we rented)
