More beautiful photos Dirk!

That Kikutii is sure interesting. What can you tell me about it?

It's funny how the same hosta will do so differently in different places. I had Love Pat in that bed I told you is shady & they don't do well. We had rain problems running off the roof one year & several hostas got drowned out & Love Pat was one of them. I bought another one & put it in the same spot after the roof was fixed but it died too. At the same time I bought a second one & put it in another bed which was also pretty shady. LP is doing great there & has gotten pretty big. So there must be something besides the shade causing the problem in that one bed. I just can't figure it out.

Hi Ellen, H.Kikutii var. caput-avis (Sugita) is a Hosta from Japan origine and the special on these one are the hanging flower stalks. I mean they grow on difficoult places in mountains were the Hosta never get right upstairs growing the flower stalks but growing crooked and therefore is the flower stalk hanging for the give him flowers.
PS: Sorry for my not correct language
