Woodland Garden
I spent a good portion of this springtime, landscaping a woodland garden in my front yard. You can see before and after pictures.
I started after a wind storm, raking out the debris under the cedar. Then I dug out the grass. I then replaced the poor topsoil and dug in stepping stones. Heavy stepping stones! The finished picture shows a variety of Hostas, trilliums, Arisaemas, Paris,Orchids, Hipaticas and ferns. I planted Bunchberry for all the plants to grow through it's carpet. Than I mulched.
I took the finished picture from a low angle for a better view of the plants since they had not filled in yet.
David.

Beautiful, what a change
Please .. one more pick in a month or so

Looks really great, but springtime? Where?

Thank you everyone! I appreciate that, and so does my back. I will definately send another picture in a month or so, I don't know how much those types of plants will fill out by then.
The spring here is still quite cold, not as cold as in the east and mid-west, sorry you guys . I did have some frost damage on a few hostas, my Lederhosen took it badly. For some reason, the standing water on the leaves of the Lederhosen layed them flat on the ground overnight, caused a bleaching effect. The leaves looked white like frost bite. I cut them off and left the newer leaves that were off the ground.

A perfect oasis of serenity! More...I want more pictures of the rest of your gardens, please? I remember last year’s and could really use a dose of serenity today (or real soon!).
Lovely front yard! And envy your weather! Our weather changes so quick here...it was up to 62 degrees today and glorious, but we are to get more snow tonight and tomorrow. We were finally down to just a few patches of snow under the evergreens...(drat)

David, it is just fabulous! Has your back recovered yet?
Sorry to hear about the frost. That's just not fair. You shouldn't have frost at this time of year, should you?
Can't wait to see the pics when this fills in.
