Risky Business

Post by renaldo75 »

has more than leaped this year. I think I counted 14 divisions a few weeks ago. It sure looks good!! :P It has some interesting variegation on a few leaves. I didn't realize it would get that bright green in between the center & margin. 8-)

i don't have that one.. but i do have H. Pole cat... still unfurling.. only diff is that pole cat seems to have some 'grass clipping' flecks in the white center. grows like a weed. Margin color is about the same.

Mike - is the center on Pole Cat a little more narrow & uniform than it appears to be on Risky Business? I've thought it looked that way in a couple pics I've seen of it.

Renaldo, I have a Risky Business that reverted back to Striptease or at least that what It looked like. It was last summer. I divided them out and ended up with several pieces of RB and ST. I didn't labed them St tho, I labeled them that they came from RB.

Here's a pic of my Risky Business... it also leaped this year.

And here is a pic of my streaky Risky Business sport. It was divided from the plant in the pic above last year. Too bad it's not fertile (at least not for me...) No seed pods set on this one last year.

That's sure a nice Risky Business, Buff!! :P And even if that  streaky sport was fertile I wouldn't tell anyone. You might have to stand guard over it then.

Nice RB Renaldo. Mine just keeps getting smaller-I should need a microscope by next year.

Thanks - I've been pleasantly surprised with how well it's done this year. :P

Sorry about yours, Impatience. I have several hostas that are doing what your RB is doing. How much light does yours get? I realize you get more heat sooner than I do here, but this one gets full afternoon sun for 3-4 hours every day. Maybe some direct light for an hour or so would be a good thing for yours... :???:

May need to move my RB today too. I was afraid of it getting to much light!

I think the white centered ones actually need a little more sun than others since they have less chlorophyll. But be prepared for them to possibly burn this year if you move them. But leave them after you move them even if they do. Next year they'll be more acclimated to the new spot & will do better.
