Hi All--Today's plant, Blue Seer, is located right outside our kitchen window so we see it more than any other plant in our garden. That is just fine because this nice performing variety is attractive right up until winter finally takes it down. Blue Seer is very similar to Elegans, which makes sense since it is a seedling of that wonderful variety. Since purchasing it in 1995 we have been growing it in a spot that receives a couple of hours of direct mid-day sun. In that sun, its great blue coloring tends to fade to green by the end of the season. Its size has not varied much from season to season and has averaged about 43x23, pretty much in line with Zilis' listing of 42x26. It's great substance discourages slugs, who don't bother this variety at all.

Nice one, Hank!! For various reasons mine has gotten moved around at least once a year since 2003. LOL I guess it stayed put from fall 2005 thru earlier this spring. Anyway it's finally in what I hope will be it's permanent home. It always looks attractive, but for the last 3+ years it's just had 2 eyes so maybe now it can start growing. If it doesn't, that's fine too since I like it well enough the way it looks now.
The pics are from June 16th when Blue Seer had just started blooming.
You can see from this pic that it's not terribly large.
A closer pic of the scapes.

Triple bonus! Hank has in a prime location, that in itself speaks volumns. Then it's slug proof and blue on top of it all! Perfect!
