Hi All--Francee is one of the great varieties. We have several growing in different shade conditions and they are all doing fine although the variety is happier with shadier spots. They have had a good growth rate, hold up well to the end of the season and are not badly bothered by slugs. This particular plant is growing in a spot on the north side of our home that gets a little late afternoon sun during June-July. All of our Francee's are very close to Zilis' size listing of 50x21.

It is a classic hosta ... no problem at all

Nice looking Francee. Mine out this way are suffering this year. Normally mine have done beautifully in the heat and more sun that they probably should have. But with the drought, they are sunburned and getting on the yellow side. They are growing strong though.
I have two that flank my front door and in the spring one of my favorite things to do is peak out and litterally watch these guys grow. Once they pop out of the ground you can almost see these guys take off!
