Hi All--Carnival is one of the old timers in this section of our garden where most of the hostas were added in 2002 and a few others in 2001. I purchased Carnival in 1999 and have it growing in a spot that gets no direct sun. It slowly, but steadily, grew to a size of 40x18, right in line with Zilis' listing of 44x18. This is an attractive, but not very unique, variety that has worse than normal problems with slugs.

Hank, nice plant. I like mine too. It seems the Lachmans didn't breed for substance, although the Hosta Library says it has "heavy texture". The down-turned margins make it different from most other cream-margined varieties. Mine is 6 years old and has yet to show the "intense rugosity" the Hosta Library promises.

Oh I like that one! Hank, does it have a bluish color to it at all like the one in the first pic of the hosta library? http://www.hostalibrary.org/c/c.html
Either way, it's very nice looking!
