Pic of the Day--Emerald Scepter

Post by Hank Zumach »

Hi All--Emerald Scepter comes from the wonderful 'Tiara' line of hostas. It has what some folks consider to be the most attractive coloring of the group. At a listed mature size of 20x8 it is small enough to fit into the miniatures area of our Friendship Garden. Our plant has shown a typically slow growth rate, going from 6x6 in 2006 to 8x4 this past summer. I do have some concerns about its substance since each year it has had some insect damage.

Nice hosta Hank - I have two Tiara's: Golden Scepter and Golden Tiara and like them both. This year was the first year I noticed how prolific a bloomer Golden Tiara is. - Jeff
