Pic of the Day--Little Sunspot

Post by Hank Zumach »

Hi All--Since being purchased in 2000, Little Sunspot has been growing in a bed that gets about 2-3 hours of mid-day sun. This very attractive sport of Little Aurora has a good growth rate, maintains it's nice appearance through the season and has few slug problems. Beginning in 2001, it measured 14x10, 17x8, 18x9, 20x9, and 21x14, 17x10 and 21x8. That's right on for a "small" variety.

8-) Hank, your Little Sunspot is AWESOME! Mine was 2 years old in 2007 and wasn't nearly as pretty as yours.

Pia--There is an opening in the tree canopy that is over this part of the gardens. Depending on the time of the year (the position of the sun in relation to the canopy) the area gets between 2 and 3 hours or so of sun.

Mine was new this year and I really enjoyed it. Doesn't have a nice mound shape yet though.
