Welcome to Hallson's, Elizabeth! I see you've already visited the Hosta forum and contributed to the discussions. I hope you'll have time to check out some of the other forums as well. Great to have you here with us!
Thank you for the warm welcome; I am an International Purchaser for the Automotive industry. I have 2 Teen age girls~ and a wonderful Husband, that fully supports my ever growing Hosta Gardens! I live in a very small town, Just north of Guelph Ontario. (Southern) Most of my Hosta came from #1 Hosta's Choice Gardens in Appin Ontario! (Nothing like a two hour car ride for Hosta's, Or just to sit, wander and hang out!) I also purchase from a local grower and another Nursery, just a few communities away from me.
I currently have 114 varieties of Hosta's (and still trying to determine what the word "Variety" really means in the Hosta world.)
I love all my Hosta's, and focus on collecting them, and anything "weird" or unique, the more unique the better.
My favorite Hosta in the whole world is Pandora's Box. And it is babied and nurtured every year! I have around 11 mature plants that are hidden because I don't want to loose them! But I share them. Except for the Mom! She doesn't get touched, except to be tugged on to loosen her "Belt Loop" so to speak, and give her more room.
I am starting an English Garden this year, for a number of reasons, The biggest, is to protect my Hosta's and give them a permanent home. I don't have much experience with this, so anyone having any advise as to what really makes an English Garden, I'm certainly open to the suggestions.
The other thing that has really intrigued me, is the cross pollenating of Hosta's to produce different seeds. Just to see what springs up! ~ I Like IT! I think I'm Just intimidated by it
Trust me I was like a person who was dropped off in a different planet, the more I looked and read, the more questions I had. I just discovered how to get over the winter Blues!
So far the information that I read, through the topics is amasing. But very intimidated by the cross polenating. My biggest flaw is being a perfectionist! Does anyone have a little digital, camera video? Please? 
..... I just need to see it physically, to make sure I don't hurt anything. My Hosta's and I are very sensitive, we work well together. I have dedicated my time to them, because they offer me solitude.
I love reading the Forum, and If I can offer any experience I've had! I will not give up my Hosta's for money, But I will trade, however you may be screened!

What a beautiful Garden
This Old Coot named John has been stove up with a broken leg and hip since october and is getting antsy for spring. he will still be in a wheel chair then but at least my wife can roll me out to see my Hosta. OC is anxious to see what comes up this year as most t to see what what was not roasted in last summers heat of 106* and he could not water.......BRING ON SPRING !!!!!OC
