Anybody with the 2008 Green Hill Gossip??

I have an information request. I ordered 2 hostas thru the ROHS at the spring meeting & picked them up last weekend.

'Coconut Custard' [Solberg's 2008 'club plant' available only thru hosta clubs] and 'Lizard Lick' [loved the name].

I find the description for 'Lizard Lick' on Solberg's website, but since 'Coconut Custard' isn't officially available for sale yet except to clubs, there's no listing for it on the site. So if anyone has a copy of this year's Green Hill Gossip, please tell me what the description, background, etc is for it.

Here's what the newspaper/catalog says:

"a special new hosta introduction exclusively to hosta clubs for their members....is a very special seedling....is a delicious, little yellow hosta with lots of frosty, white wax and rich purple petioles. It sports orchid colored flowers on well proportioned yellow scapes and it is as pretty as it is distinctive.

'Coconut Custard' is one of our many seedlings from 'Blue Cadet' and 'One Man's Treasure', the standard for good purple color in hostas. It is an easy to grow little plant that is the perfect complement for our 'Baby Blue Eyes'.

Jeez! It sounds as great as I copied that text as when I first read it. Note to self: join a hosta club!

So glad I could help. Usually, when it comes to hosta, it's the other way around, and other people help me. They give me info, ID plants, suggest sources & hostas, give me hostas....it's rare that I can help.

Personally, ANYTHING with 'Blue Cadet' in its lineage has got to be a good hosta! Every garden should have at least one 'Blue Cadet' ... a nice hosta that forms a tight round clump and/or can be used for edging and complements so many other hosta. Can you see how "green" with envy I'm typing?

So far it's just one small division. But if it has much Blue Cadet running thru its veins, it won't stay that way for long.
