...voting for hostas in the dead of winter, eh? how very quaint...OK, with apologies all round, some of us (me) put our hosta dreams to bed along with the plants. But now that they're gradually rising out of the ground, and with so many still to emerge here in my very shady garden, I'm getting all psyched up to vote. But voting sight unseen isn't fair, especially if the plants are young. I'm looking forward to so many of my old friends - but also anticipating getting acquainted with a bunch of newbies, barely stuck into the ground before winter set in. With just a smattering of eyes above ground this week, I think I'll postpone my vote by a month. (pssst! Liberty is definitely going to make the list. shhhhhh!)

Re: Vote for the most popular hosta of this forum - 2009
All of mine were dug up and moved late last fall.
Some were planted in the soil by friends, some just standing on the soil...
Leaving for vcation most of April may not be the smartest idea... left when crocus and snowdrops was blooming and first daffodills was starting to unfurl - came home when the daffs was gone and the first tulips too.
It was a very warm April here this year... all over the area, the weed was knee high
Can't find a lot of them..sure, some of them left 2 legged... All is open US style, no fences, no hedges Not Danish at all ...and a lot of them are still in boxes or on the ground...way smaller than before... they were dug up rather narrow...and was planed way to narrow, so for now my biggest ones are the potted ones
But I will scroll around them one of these days... some I hardly noticed before are just stars in their new garden area. Funny how they can change with some other ligh/ shade conditions

Hi, I'm going to add my 2cents worth, and say please add Thunderbolt. It may not look like much at first but give it a few years and it is just beautiful. Mine is 6 years old and almost as big as Blue Angel. Maybe not a real easy one to grow but sure worth the effort.
